Pagan Blessing Water

This year I became an Ordained Minister and one of things that I have wanted to since then is to make Pagan Blessing water, some know it as holy water. Last night was the perfect time to make it because not only was it a full moon, but it was a super full moon, which is the largest full moon of the year. The energy outside was truly amazing last night, so I did my ritual outside. I live in the city and don't get out much, so I used bottled spring water instead of spring collected water. Before I started, I made sure that I had everything I needed which is the following:

Spring water
Glass canning jar
Sea salt
Gold coin
Silver coin

I also like to burn white candles, sage smudge sticks, and sandalwood or frankincense incense. I think it adds more energy and purification power to the ritual. Light your candles, smudges, and incense. Clear your mind and focus on your task at hand. Take the glass jar and pour in spring water until full. Add a gold coin and a silver coin. Gold represents the sun and silver represents the moon. Hold your hands over the water with palms open and say:

I exorcise thee, oh creature of water,
of all negativity both seen and unseen,
And bless thee in the name of the divine goddess.

Take 3 pinches of sea salt in you hand and say the following:

I exorcise thee, oh creature of salt,
of all negativity both seen and unseen,
And bless thee in the name of the divine goddess.

Add the sea salt to the spring water and stir 3 times. Then holding your hands open, over the water again say the following:

I cleanse and concentrate this water in the name of the divine goddess.
May this liquid enhance and purify all that it touches.
As I will it, so mote it be.

Add a lid to the jar and allow to sit outside in the full moon overnight to soak up the moon's energy. Leave outside until after the sun rises so the first rays of light from the sun can add it's energy to the blessing water as well. You can take and bottle your blessing water into smaller bottles or leave it in the jar you made it in. You can remove the coins from the water in the morning once the full ritual is done. Blessing water is used for cleansing altar tools, wiccanings, spells and other magical purposes, and etc. Blessing (Holy) water is used in a lot of different ways in Paganism. It's good to have some on hand at all times.

Witch Bottle & Mojo Bags

Witch Bottle

The witch bottle is a magical tool that has been reported in use for centuries. In early times, the bottle was designed as a way to protect oneself from malicious witchcraft and sorcery. Homeowners might create a witch bottle to keep evil spirits from entering the home. The general idea of a witch bottle is to not only to protect yourself, but to send back the negative energy to whoever or whatever is sending it your way.

Place sharp objects such as pins, needles, screws, tacks, nails, etc. into your witch bottle. Add protection herbs until bottle is 1/4 of the way full. Add bay leaf with a pentacle drawn on it to the bottle. Add 3 drops of Dragon's Blood oil.  Chant 3 times:

Sharp object and herbs combined
In this witch's bottle of mine;
Guard against harm and negativity
This is my will, so mote it be.

Add items from your house such as paint chips, dirt from floor, cobwebs, etc. if making a house protection witch bottle. If making a protection witch bottle for a person you can add hair, nails, blood, urine, etc. Fill the rest of the witch's bottle with sea salt and place cap on the bottle. Seal your witch's bottle with wax from a black candle. Add pentacle charm to the bottle, wrapping the twine with charm around bottle 3 times and knotting twine 3 times. Hang the witch bottle outside your front door, bury it under your porch, or at the far end of your property, or you can even bury it off your property. Place it in a spot where it will not be broken.

Mojo Bags

Mojo is a term commonly encountered in the African-American folk belief called hoodoo. A mojo is an amulet consisting of a flannel bag containing one or magical items. It is related to the West African word "mojuba", meaning a prayer of praise and homage. It is a "prayer in a bag", or a spell that can be carried or on the host's body. Alternative American names for the mojo bag include mojo hand, conjure hand, lucky hand, conjure bag, trick bag, root bag, toby, jomo, and gris-gris bag.

Add sea salts and protection herbs to your mojo bag. Then, add bay leaf with a pentacle drawn on it. Put in Tiger's eye stone and a amethyst crystal. Next add personal items hair, nails, blood, paper with your name and birth date, etc. Add 3 drops of Dragon's blood oil and tie bag shut. To add pentacle charm, wrap twine with charm around bag 3 times and knot 3 times. You can hang your mojo bag in your house, car, or carry it with you.

Mojo bags are a great way to cast spells. You can make them for various different reasons such as protection, love, money, healing, etc. It's all in the energy and items you add to your mojo bag that make the spell work for its intended purpose.

Homemade Earth Friendly Cleaners

A few days ago a came across a post that some of my facebook friends were passing around on how to make homemade all purpose cleaner. I was thrilled to come across the recipe, because I'm sick of cleaning my house with harsh cleaners that are not good for my children or my pets. I also don't like the fact that those harsh chemicals are bad for the environment. So, I bought the cheap supplies it takes to make the cleaner and it's brewing now. Here is the recipe.

All Purpose Natural House Cleaner

Quart Jar
Orange, Lime, and/or Lemon Peels (Your Choice)
Vinegar
Spray Bottle

Fill jar with peels of your choice. Fill with Vinegar. Let sit for 10 days. Strain liquid and put in spray bottle to use as an all purpose cleaner.

I also ran across a few other natural, earth friendly cleaners online. They are the following.

Furniture Polish

1 cup extra virgin olive oil
1/2 cup lemon juice

Mix lemon juice and extra virgin olive oil. Place a little at a time on a rag to polish furniture.

Glass Cleaner

1 cup rubbing alcohol
1 cup water
1 Tablespoon of vinegar
Spray bottle

Mix rubbing alcohol, water and vinegar in a spray bottle. Use as cleaner on glass surfaces.

I had to share these and I hope others try them in place of store bought cleaners. These are very cheap and very easy to make. And they are natural, earth friendly cleaners. I know that I will not be buying any more harsh chemicals to clean my house and from now on I will be making my own cleaners. It will give me peace of mind knowing my house is clean without damaging my kids' or pets' health. Also, it's a few less chemicals that will due damage to our environment.

Trip To The OBGYN

Finally have some medical coverage, so I made a trip to the Gyno today. I've been dealing with a hormonal imbalance for 3 years and 2 of that 3 years I couldn't afford to go to the doc. Anyway, I went in today and they did a pap smear, a Endometrial Biopsy, and blood work. The Endometrial Biopsy was painful and I'm having some cramping which is very uncomfortable and painful. They are testing for cervical and uterine cancer, hormonal levels, and checking my blood count and iron level. Hopefully all my tests will come back OK. Until then, I'm just sitting here waiting for the results. They also put me on Provera which is used for abnormal uterine bleeding. I'm hoping to get this problem taken care of and Provera should help.

The OBGYN and I also discussed Lap Band surgery. I'm very obese and I've struggled with my weight most of my life. With my hormonal issues I've gained even more weight. It's something I really want to do, but there are certain things I need to do first. I need to deal with my hormonal issues first, talk to the surgeon and find out everything there is to know about the surgery, and speak to a dietitian about meals and nutrition to make sure I make changes to keep the weight off. I of course would need to come up with a daily exercise routine. I'm a stay at home mom, so I know I can do this. I think making a lifestyle change like this is going to be huge, but it needs to be done. I have 4 kids that need me and I don't want to develop Diabetes or die from heart failure or have any other health problems for that matter.

That's what's going on with myself right now. My goals right now are to get my hormones under control and then start taking the steps to possibly have Lap Band surgery. It's a lot to deal with on top of trying to take care of 4 kids and the house, and trying to get my own business going. I'm very motivated to make all these changes. I need to do something. I can't keep letting my weight and medical problems hold me back from living my life. I just wish I would have had this attitude 10 years ago, but not going to dwell on the past and looking forward to my future.

The GOP's Latest Distraction

There is nothing that pisses me off more then conservatives making a fake controversy out of nothing to distract from the fact that are hampering women's rights. They seem to be stuck on this "I'm rubber, your glue" thing lately. They take all of their faults and try to convince people that Democrats are the ones with those faults, not Republicans. They are doing it now with what everyone is calling a "War on Women". It is hard for anyone to believe that Republicans aren't waging a war on women when the legislation they are continuously putting forward and passing says otherwise. Then, in order to distract from that fact, they take one comment made by Hilary Rosen out of context and blow it up into a big deal when it shouldn't be. For those of you who don't know, Hilary Rosen is a CNN political pundit and a Democrat. While on CNN a few days back she made the following comment about Ann Romney, Mitt Romney's wife.

"What you have is Mitt Romney running around the country saying, 'Well, you know my wife tells me that what women really care about are economic issues and when I listen to my wife that's what I'm hearing.' Guess what? His wife has actually never worked a day in her life. She's never really dealt with the kinds of economic issues that a majority of the women in this country are facing in terms of how do we feed our kids, how do we send them to school and why do we worry about their future."

I don't see how she was wrong and she should never had apologized for telling the truth. The truth is Ann Romney has never worked outside the home a day in her life, so no she does not know what women who work and raise kids are going through. Ann Romney was born into a privileged family, went to private school, and married a rich man. She's never in her life had to work a real job or worry about money. She's never had to worry about how to pay for things like food, bills, clothes, her kids' education and health care. Mrs. Romney has never lived paycheck to paycheck like most moms in America. She doesn't understand what it's like to be a poor or middle class mother who has to work and raise kids on a limited income therefore her advice to her husband on what issues women are concerned about is useless because she doesn't know what it's like to struggle and be the average mother in America. Yes, Ann Romney has had serious health problems in the past, but unlike other women, she is wealthy and has the money for top notch health care. She came back at Rosen's comments saying raising 5 boys was hard work. How hard could it have been when you have a supportive family and a full household staff to help you? Most women don't have nannies, maids, or even a supportive family to help, not to mention a husband with a equally supportive family. I really don't want to judge Ann Romney, because it's not her fault she was born into a privileged family and married a rich guy. I'm sure she loves Mitt. I just find it irritating when she comes from that type of lifestyle and she pretends to know what an average American mother deals with on a daily basis. No she doesn't have any clue what other women have to deal with. Stop trying to relate when you can't. Neither can your husband, because he was born into a privileged family as well. The reason the Obamas relate well with the general public and understand what it's like for most struggling Americans is because they have been there and were both born into poor families. They worked their asses off to get where they are today. They didn't have it all just handed to them and then screw over the little people like Mitt to get even wealthier.

As for everyone attacking Hilary Rosen, she was right and no she should not have apologized. Sorry that Mitt, Ann, and the rest of the conservatives couldn't handle the truth. The same people on the right who were outraged by this non-controversy are the same ignorant people who diss Michelle Obama on a daily basis. Hypocrites. They also attacked Rosen for being a lesbian and adopting her children. How is that OK? Conservatives are fighting a losing battle, because women in this country are not stupid or easily distracted by this type of nonsense. They no exactly who is hampering women's rights and it's showing in the polls and that's why the GOP is grasping at straws. They only have themselves to blame when Mitt Romney loses the race for President. They keep going further and further to the right and it's ruining their party. I personally can't wait for November. I don't always agree with President Obama, but he's done a good job and continues to make progress and handles controversies with dignity and respect, and for that he will have my vote again in November. I only hope that women in this country keep their eyes on the party that is really on their side and that's the Democrats. I wish Hilary Rosen and Ann Romney both the best.

Things Are Coming Together

Things are starting to come together. I've been working really hard on getting my products done and ready to sale. I'm doing OK, but think I need to get more done faster. It's hard to do with 4 kids, a busy husband, and no help. I have started a Twisted Witches Blog and a Twisted Witches Facebook page to get started and so friends and family can follow the progress being made. I'm hoping to be able to launch my website soon, but it may take a little while to get it finished. So, for now I'm hoping everyone stays patient with me while I continue to try and get the products done. I'm nervous, but looking forward to going to Marysville over Mother's Day weekend for our booth sale. I'm hoping we do well and whatever we don't sell there I'm going to post on the future website. I really hope that someday I will be able to have my own little family witchy store. That is my goal, but for now I'm doing what I can afford to do. You can follow us at the following links.

What's New With Me

I haven't blogged in a few months and a lot has been going on. So here is the Top Ten things going on in my life lately. I will do full blog posts on a few of these when I get the time.

1. We have a new addition to our family. My niece had an adorable baby boy on March 20, 2012. I haven't seen him yet, but seeing him this weekend and getting some pics too.

2. Glenn and I got our tax return back and got caught up on bills.

3. I have taken some of our tax return and started making herbal and aromatherapy products to sell. I wish I had the money to have my own shop and to buy more supplies for more products.

4. I played Mega Millions and lost of course. It was a huge jackpot so I had to give it a shot.

5. Glenn lost his job. I'm not worried because I know he will find another one soon. Hopefully, we can get by until then.

6. Spring is here! Yeppers, Spring is here. It has been unusually hot lately with temps reaching into the mid & upper 80's.

7. My lily flowers are growing back and I'm trying to be patient until they bloom.

8. I'm an Ordained Minister now and have the certificate to prove it.

9. I'm getting back on my Pagan path after not practicing the Craft for a lot of years. I've been busy having and raising kids. But, I'm back and learning a lot. Right now I'm very into natural healing.

10. Life is getting better for me, but I'm still dealing with health problems due to my hormonal imbalance. It's been difficult to deal with the last 3 years. I have an appointment with my Gyno next week, so hoping he has a solution to the problem. I'm sick of dealing with this.

That's it for now. I will make longer posts about a few of these later on. Right now I'm just worn out and trying to spend a little time with my 3 year old while the other kiddos are in school. More news coming soon.
